This property is zoned Open Space and initial feedback from the wildlife agencies suggest up to 9.6 acres of Coastal Sage Scrub and Gnatcatcher habitat may qualify for compensatory mitigation credits with development of an active management plan. Currently the property is linked to the public trail system on “P” Mountain and the City of San Marcos has expressed interest in acquiring an easement across the property to preserve public access to the trail system.
